Newbie protection mode
From Sv² Wiki
Every new account - for the first two weeks is under what is called newbie protection. This means that users with armies, and tanks are unable to attack you for your first two weeks of game play. This will allow you to get used to the game play, and also to build up some protections of your own. Also one of the newer features is that it now costs stronger players ALOT more to attack a weaker player - in many cases making it a bad idea to attack a newer player for money.
In the past anyone could attack any other player (being out of the first two weeks of newbie protection) with ease. Some have argued that this should not be so.
With the new coding all players who have at least 150 points and attack someone having less points will have to pay more to attack. These costs depend on the point ratio (points of attacker) / (points of target) in a non-linear way. Attacking a player who has half of your points will stay rather cheap (like 4,000§ extra) but attacking someone with only 10% of your points will hurt your wallet (+ 100,000 §). The 150 points quota has been set to allow small players to attack smaller ones (especially the inactive players) with ease.
Attacking someone having more points is not affected and as I said attacking someone who has moderately less points than you will stay cheap too. Thus that´s only bad news for those ones who have "too many" points. This will add another layer of protection for the newbies on Sv-2.net.
